LP Record Celebrating 50 years of Scorpions: remastered Tokyo Tapes In 2015, Scorpions celebrated their 50th anniversary. To mark the band's birthday, they released something very special for their fans: the "50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition". In this series, Scorpions re-released a number of different studio and live albums. The band also dug out a host of previously unreleased tracks from their archives, including rare live recordings, alternative versions of their songs, and rough mixes. The band's first live album, "Tokyo Tapes", is also being released in a remastered version. The original album was released in Europe in 1978. A year later, it was released in the USA. The recordings were made on the 24th and 27th
LP Record Scorpions' second studio album, "Fly To The Rainbow", was released on 1st November 1974 and is the first album the band members produced themselves. The album was released shortly after their "Lonesome Crow" tour, after which Michael Schenker left the band and was replaced by Uli Jon Roth. Stylistically, "Fly To The Rainbow" departed strongly from their debut album "Lonesome Crow" and moved in a more experimental direction, but it already had strong hard rock influences, hinting at the path the band would later take. In addition to singer Klaus Meine, the album also features vocals from Rudolf Schenker ("They Need a Million") and Uli Jon Roth ("Drifting Sun").
LP Record Released in December 1976, Jean-Michel Jarre's album Oxygène is one of the most influential and well-known electronic albums of all time. The title track was a huge success and the album helped to popularise electronic music. Jarre's synthesisers and keyboards created a unique and futuristic sound that remains popular to this day.
LP Record - Scorpions don't just write great songs and produce phenomenal albums; they are also an exceptional live band, equally at home on any stage, big or small. It's no surprise that the Hanover natives have earned a reputation as one of the best live bands of all time. So what could be more natural than documenting the band's sensational performances in stadiums and arenas around the world with a live album? "World Wide Live" was an ambitious project. A film crew followed the band across the USA, Asia, and Europe, all the way to South America, capturing their daily life on tour, their concerts, and their interaction with fans.
LP Record - Lovedrive marked the beginning of a new era in the history of Scorpions. Guitarist Uli Jon Roth permanently left the band in 1978 after their first Japanese tour. The new man, Matthias Jabs, also came from Hanover, and Michael Schenker joined the band in the studio too. He contributed solo parts to the songs "Lovedrive", "Another Piece of Meat", and "Coast To Coast". The result was a studio album featuring three exceptional guitarists. The outcome was correspondingly breathtaking.
LP Record Following the huge success of the "Blackout" album and tours across Europe, Asia and America, Scorpions entered the studio in the spring of 1983 to start recording "Love At First Sting". From the outset, the goal was to surpass the success of "Blackout". They succeeded, as "Love At First Sting" became the most successful album of the band's long career, delivering classics like "Still Loving You", "Rock You Like A Hurricane", and "Big City Nights", which remain highlights of every Scorpions concert to this day. With "Still Loving You", they cemented their reputation as masters of the soulful rock ballad, selling over two million singles in France alone.
