Table Top Dishwasher

Table top dishwashers are the smallest and most compact dishwasher type. They are ideal for small households, couples, and singles who live alone. They can wash all the types of kitchenware a classic dishwasher can, but in smaller quantities. Due to their low capacity, table top dishwashers are more suited for those who cook only sporadically and do not have much kitchenware to wash.

What to focus on when choosing

Loading capacity

When choosing a table top dishwasher, focus primarily on its capacity. The capacity is indicated as the number of place settings per cycle. One place setting means one dinner plate, one soup plate, one dessert plate, one tea cup and saucer, plus some cutlery. Table top dishwashers have a maximum of 8 place settings.

Power consumption 

Another important parameter is the power consumption of a dishwasher. Make sure to carefully study the label, which lists the annual energy and water consumption of an appliance. The overall energy efficiency is indicated by its energy class. If possible, try to choose an appliance rated as Class A+ or higher.

Dishwasher noise and extra features

Finally, don’t forget to check the noise level (max. 50 dB is the equivalent of the noise you can hear in a quiet office) and features. The most common features include Delay Start, which lets you delay the cleaning cycle for later. In table top dishwashers you can also find smart features such as Aquastop (prevents water from leaking from the appliance) or a load capacity sensor (adjusts the water consumption to match the number of place settings).
