Breaking chisel

The breakout chisel is a hand tool that can be part of the accessories supplied with the milling machine. Its purpose is to help with the clean and precise separation of material after the milling machine has created a guide groove or shallow notch in it. Instead of completely cutting through the material, which could cause damage or burrs on the underside, only this prep line is created. The breakout chisel is then used to apply pressure along this groove, causing the material to break and separate in a controlled manner at the exact location. This procedure is particularly suitable when working with fragile or laminated boards, where it ensures a clean and undamaged edge.
