The protagonist Ray Winkler (Woody Allen) is a small-time thief with big dreams who has a hard time with the honest work of a dishwasher. His strict wife Frenchy (Tracey Ullman) is a manicurist and has no sympathy for his dreams. It's a good thing Ray has David (Hugh Grant) on hand and gets the idea to rob the bank.
