Godspeed You! Black Emperor: F♯ A♯ ∞
LP Record Product information: This nine-piece band from Montreal doesn't shout its anger, but transforms it into sound. They are epically powerful and incredibly dynamic, alternating between melancholy, despair, and (powerless) rage. Implosions give way to explosions, and quiet phases are followed by the construction of huge walls of sound that immediately collapse again. Godspeed are careful with innovation. This time there are no tape recordings or spoken word fragments, but "Motherfucker = Redeemer" is the most rhythmic track in their history to date. Produced by the brilliant Steve Albini (Nirvana, Big Black, plus a thousand other bands) without changing their sound, there are not many who hold this man in such high regard.
Kodaline: In A Perfect World LTD
LP Record For the Irish quartet Kodaline, music is more than just music. "For us, it's a form of therapy," says singer Steve Garrigan. Two years ago, when he and his childhood friend Mark Prendergast were helping each other through breakups, they channelled their thoughts into songs about love and loss. "It's very, very easy to write after a breakup," laughs the blonde frontman of Kodaline. "When we're working on songs, the first thing that comes to mind is: 'Does it have a therapeutic effect?'. Then we think about how we can make as many people as possible connect with that feeling."
Lady Gaga: Dawn Of Chromatica Ltd Clr
LP Record A role model Lady Gaga is not only one of the most successful singers in the world, but also a cultural icon. It's no wonder that other artists are inspired by Gaga and her music. This is certainly the case on "Dawn Of Chromatica", her third remix album, following "The Remix" (2010) and "Born This Way: The Remix" (2011). The new album's title gives it away: the collection consists of remixes of songs from her sixth studio album, "Chromatica" from 2020. It features collaborations with a host of pop and electronic musicians. According to Gaga, the intention behind "Dawn Of Chromatica" is to show her love and support for younger and emerging artists.

Various: Love Actually (The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) LTD
LP Record Ten intertwined love stories with one big (mostly) happy ending. Love Actually is one of the best romantic comedies of the last two decades, capturing all the complexities of modern love in a moving and bittersweet way. One of the reasons Richard Curtis's 2003 film became a hit with critics and audiences alike was its incredible cast: Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Laura Linney, Billy Bob Thornton, Andrew Lincoln, Rowan Atkinson, and the list goes on. But another very important reason was its soundtrack; as Curtis writes in a personal note, "Without the music, Love Actually wouldn't work at all."
Motörhead: 1916 LTD
LP Record Motörhead's 1991 album, 1916, is packed with energy and power. Inspired by the First World War, it's clear the band was passionate about the subject. The album is full of heavy metal anthems that will get your adrenaline pumping. The lyrics are dark and intense, and the music is loud and in-your-face. If you're looking for an album to get your heart racing, 1916 is an excellent choice.

The Alan Parsons Project: Eye in the Sky
LP Record Eye in the Sky is the sixth studio album by The Alan Parsons Project and arguably the prog-rock group's most commercially successful record. The opening instrumental track, Sirius, is one of the most famous in sport – the fanfare is inextricably linked with the announcement of Michael Jordan and his Chicago Bulls. The title track, which flows seamlessly from it, became a chart success and can still be heard on radio stations today. With its excellent depth, concert hall-level separation, and realistic delivery, Eye in the Sky is an outstanding example of how important perfectionism is to the work of sound and recording engineers.
