Modeselektor: Who Else Dlx Pic
LP Record Modeselektor recorded their new album – they spent two years planning it and a month creating it. It's an album packed with classic Modeselektor tracks, born from experience, full of self-confidence, and with their usual dose of madness. No kick drum in "Who Else" sounds like any other on this album; no snare is repeated in another track. Every hi-hat is custom-made, and no synth appears in exactly the same way twice. The album isn't your predictable techno record, and that's what makes it such a powerful piece of work. Even in the relentless search for new sounds, the old principle always applies: less is more. "Who Else" represents the sound of Berlin in all its ambivalence.
Moderate: III
LP Record The electronic supergroup is back. Moderat continues its album series in 2016 with "III". As the name suggests, this is their third LP. Originally a side project or supergroup, Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary of the DJ duo Modeselektor and Sascha Ring, aka Apparat, can now call themselves a 'real' band. With "III", they not only complete their trilogy but also prove they are a well-rehearsed and experienced team, having made music together for almost as long as they have in their original formations or as solo artists. They have already described the new album as their most mature work.
Moderat: More D4ta Ltd Dlx Clr
LP Record Electronic craftsmanship After the flood of information in recent years, you might not feel like listening to "More D4ta", but in this case, you should make an exception: "More D4ta" is the name of the new album by Moderat. After the Berlin-based electro trio – formed in 2002 by the merger of DJ duo Modeselektor and musician Apparat – announced an extended hiatus in 2017, they are now ending it after six years and returning in 2022 with their fourth LP album. Their last release was the 2016 album "III", which reached number five in the German charts. And that's exactly what "More D4ta" is about: the last few years. It was created during a time when touring was impossible, and it grapples with feelings of isolation and information overload.
