Toto: 40 Trips Around The Sun
LP Record 17 tracks, including the previously unreleased "Spanish Sea", "Alone", and "Struck By Lightning". The other tracks on the album, mostly classics from TOTO's repertoire, have been remastered by Elliot Scheiner, Gavin Lurssen, and his team. A few months ago, the core of the band – Steve Lukather, David Paich, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams – reunited in the studio to work on the new record. While searching the Sony Music archives, they discovered several unfinished tracks featuring the late band members Jeff and Mike Porcaro. One of these tracks, "Spanish Sea", has been immortalised on the album "40 Trips Around The Sun". "The song originally came from the 'Isolation' album sessions," comments Steve Lukather on this rediscovery.

LP Record Morphine is an alternative rock group that formed in 1989 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Their debut album, "Good", was released in 1992. The band's instrumentation was somewhat unusual for a rock group: frontman Mark Sandman used a two-string slide bass guitar and added other instruments to the albums, such as guitar, piano, electronic organ, and other self-invented instruments. Saxophonist Dana Colley played several types of saxophones (primarily baritone), sometimes playing multiple saxophones at once, and occasionally played drums. This combination created a jazz and blues-infused rock sound on the album "Good" and subsequent Morphine albums.

The idea for the collaboration came after a Transatlantic concert at the "Progressive Nation At Sea" festival in 2014, where Anderson also performed. Preparations for the album began shortly after. The composing, songwriting and recording of "Invention Of Knowledge" took about a year and a half. During this time, the musicians sent ideas and demos to each other over the internet. In March 2015, Stolt finally put together the line-up for the final recording.
