The Chemical Brothers: Further
LP Record Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons embark on a journey through almost 40 years of electronic noise. Their sporadic "Electronic Battle Weapon" series served as a blueprint, now blossoming into a full-sized, complete album. West Coast power-pop harmonies meet German motorik rhythms, with My Bloody Valentine-esque sound manipulations floating over early house basslines.
Three Man Army: Two Ltd Clr
LP Record Brothers Adrian and Paul Gurvitz were behind some of the most progressive hard rock sounds of the late '60s and '70s, first in the band The Gun and later with Cream's drummer Ginger Baker in The Baker Gurvitz Army. In between these two bands, however, came perhaps their finest work: Three Man Army released three records between 1971 and 1974 that would sit perfectly in any British heavy rock collection, alongside albums like Cactus, Jeff Beck's Truth, and Beck-Ola. Confusingly, their 1974 album 'Two' was their third, and it's fair to say they saved the best for last.
