Music CD The soundtrack to the film Flash Gordon, released in 1980, was created in collaboration between Queen and film composer Howard Blake. The album is a mixture of rock and orchestral tracks, with the former predominating. The opening track "Flash's Theme" is a classic rock song that sets the tone for the rest of the album. Other highlights include the bombastic "Battle Theme" and the ballad "The Hero". The orchestral tracks are well executed and give the album a sense of grandeur. Although the soundtrack does not reach the level of Queen's finest work, it is still a worthwhile listen for fans of the band.
