LP Record Their previous album, "Punkrock Harbour", brought the band The Baboon Show, who have been around since 2003, huge popularity in Germany. This was compounded by their frenetic live shows, which have deservedly earned them a reputation as one of the best live acts in their genre. Expectations are therefore high and the excitement is palpable. On "Peoples Republic.", however, the band doesn't let either of these things faze them, once again showing where their strengths lie: in incredibly catchy songwriting! Whether it's short garage punk tracks, groovy dance-punk monsters, or pop-punk gems, the songs are always almost perfectly arranged and don't take long to make an impact.
LP Record In spring this year, Maite Kelly released the first album of her solo career, titled "Hello!", and the pop anthem "Einfach Hello" from this album is currently the most successful pop single of the year. But Maite Kelly wouldn't be Maite Kelly if she rested on her laurels. Quite the opposite – Maite's creativity has no stop button. So this summer, she composed another five songs, which will now shorten the wait for her tour in early 2022 on a special bonus edition.
LP Record The Christmas Ball! With this compilation, we wanted to add more vibrancy to the celebration of love, even though some songs have a nostalgic and dreamy feel that might take you back to your childhood. This Christmas record invites you to a Christmas ball – to dance, swing, reflect, and enjoy merry celebrations with family, friends, like-minded people, and guests. This music brings magic to every cottage, with all its candles, lights, and crackling stoves, while the snow falls and storms outside.
LP Record The soundtrack for Skyfall was composed by Thomas Newman and released on 29 October 2012. The album features the song "Skyfall" by Adele, which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song.
LP Record Miles Davis' Birth of the Cool is a seminal album in the history of jazz. Released in 1957, the album helped to define the cool jazz movement and was characterised by Davis' innovative trumpet playing and arrangements. Critics praised the album for its unique sound, and many jazz musicians have cited it as an influence.
LP Record Debut on green vinyl Pierre Michael "Peter" Schilling is one of the big stars of the Neue Deutsche Welle. In 2021, the German singer is re-releasing his debut album "Fehler im System" as an LP on green vinyl. Schilling produced and released the album in 1982. The first single, "Major Tom (völlig losgelöst)", reached number one in the charts in Germany, Austria and Switzerland in the same year and remains one of the most successful hits of the Neue Deutsche Welle to this day. The second single, "Die Wüste lebt", reached number seven in the summer of 1983. The album "Fehler im System" reached number two in Germany and number four in Austria.
LP Record Five years after its groundbreaking predecessor, "Metal Bear Stomp", the extreme metallers are back with twelve brand-new tracks. Known for their unique and explosive cocktail of thrash and speed metal, as well as hardcore and hip hop, they delve even deeper into the genres of heavy music, refining their sound with ever more technical tricks and turns, while also being surprisingly more aggressive than before. Not even the first acoustic track in the band's history can hide the fact that the gas pedal is to the floor for almost the entire duration. Gang shouts, helicopter double bass drumming, and nods to doom, stoner and black metal unleash an album that makes the loss of SLAYER seem, for the most part, more bearable.
LP Record Zakk Sabbath's "Vertigo" is a tribute album released on 4 September 2020 to mark the 50th anniversary of Black Sabbath's self-titled debut album. This homage to the heavy metal pioneers is led by Zakk Wylde, frontman of Zakk Sabbath and former guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne. The album features a faithful, track-by-track re-recording of the original Black Sabbath record, aiming to capture the raw live energy and authenticity of the era. The tracklist includes iconic songs such as "Black Sabbath", "The Wizard", and "N.I.B.", as well as a medley of "A Bit of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning".
LP Record Eight months after his successful collaboration with Miles Davis on the album Kind of Blue, Evans recorded Portrait in Jazz with a new group (the Bill Evans Trio), an album that helped change the direction of modern jazz. Most notably, LaFarro's bass guitar moved away from being a mere accompaniment to an instrument almost equal to the piano (though not to the same extent as on later albums like Sunday at the Village Vanguard). This is one of Evans's more spirited and up-tempo albums (despite a few ballads).
LP Record The Swedes are back! Just a little over a year after "The People's Republic Of The Baboon Show Formerly Known As Sweden", their sixth studio album, with the short and snappy title "DAMNATION", will be released at the end of March. Ten new songs of straightforward punk rock in the best Baboon Show style. In many ways, it's less playful than its predecessor; punk has once again taken the upper hand, and the pure rock elements have taken a bit of a back seat. And let's be honest, this means the band has landed in the area they do best. The album is once again produced by Pelle Gunnerfeldt (The Hives, Randy), who has conjured up a truly wonderful garage sound for the band. Raw, loud, and honest.
