"Spice World" is the group's second album. It was released on 3 November 1997 and featured hits like "Spice Up Your Life!", "Too Much", "Stop" and "Viva Forever". It reached number one in the UK charts and number four in Germany. To date, "Spice World" has only been released on vinyl once: in the UK in 1997. Now this pop classic is finally available on record again. PS: You can find the vinyl reissue of "Greatest Hits" here.
LP Record British Steel is the sixth studio album by the band Judas Priest, released on 14 April 1980. It is the band's first album with the new singer, Rob Halford. The album was recorded at Tittenhurst Park, John Lennon's former home, and was produced by Tom Allom. British Steel was both a critical and commercial success, reaching number 4 on the UK Albums Chart and number 34 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping one million copies in the United States. British Steel is cited as one of the most influential heavy metal albums of all time.
LP Record Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is one of the most influential jazz albums of all time. Released in 1959, the album features Davis on trumpet alongside John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly. The album was recorded in a single session, with the musicians improvising based on melody sketches provided by Davis. The album's influence can be heard in the work of later jazz musicians as well as in other musical genres. Kind of Blue is often cited as the first album to feature modal jazz, a style that avoids chord progressions in favour of melodies based on scales.
LP Record Back on screen: Chvrches with album number 4 Chvrches are back. The Scottish electropop heroes from Glasgow are releasing their new, fourth LP in 2021: "Screen Violence" is the title of the follow-up to their 2018 album "Love Is Dead". The album title was originally intended to be the band's name back in 2011 when their story began. Ten years later, at a time when the reality of on-screen violence is more relevant than ever, when we experience the world's traumas as if they were happening in another world, Chvrches have revived the term for the title of their upcoming album.
LP Record "Future" is the eponymous fifth studio album by American rapper Future, released on 17 February 2017 through A1 Recordings, Freebandz, and Epic Records. The album uniquely features Future as the sole guest, as it is presented without any other featured artists, showcasing his versatility as a solo performer. "Future" is characterised by its trap music foundation, with production that includes pulsating beats and gritty, atmospheric soundscapes. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, making it Future's fourth number-one album in the country. It received generally positive reviews from music critics, who praised its production and Future's performance.
LP Record The symphonic, expansive, and emotive album "The Last Goodbye" is the duo's most ambitious record to date. Nostalgic yet rooted in the present, it offers a vast soundscape that explores themes of connection and memory. The album is woven with old and new, interspersed with personal audio clips from home videos, hypnotherapy sessions, and even the voices of the duo's parents. It also features collaborations with The Knocks, Bettye LaVette, MARO, Låpsley, Ólafur Arnalds, Julianna Barwick, Izzy Bizu, and Charlie Houston. These collaborations follow previous significant musical partnerships with Leon Bridges, Little Dragon, Regina Spektor, RY X, Naomi Wild, and others.
LP Record Átta is Sigur Rós's first new studio album in ten years, and it's their most intimate and emotionally direct record to date. Few bands can cut through the world's noise and distractions to deliver a truth or feeling as pure and elemental as Sigur Rós. As heard on Átta, the new lineup has given the band a fresh energy and drive. Multi-instrumentalist Kjartan Sveinsson has returned to the band – after leaving in 2012 – joining frontman Jónsi and bassist Georg Holm.
LP Record Films in the evening, music in the morning. It was once said that writing about music is like dancing about architecture (impossible and absurd). But what about singing about films? That's the exact idea behind the new collaborative album from Sufjan Stevens and Angelo De Augustine, "A Beginner's Mind". And this is how they brought it to life: the American singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and his fellow American musical colleague took some time off at a friend's cabin, watched films at night, and wrote songs together in the morning, taking turns on music and lyrics. The result is 13 songs, loosely based on mostly popular films. The source material is sophisticated, low-brow, and everything in between.
LP Record Mogwai celebrated their 25th anniversary this year. In 2021, the dark post-punk spirit from Glasgow releases a new, tenth studio album. "As The Love Continues" is the title of the eagerly awaited successor to their 2017 album, "Every Country's Sun". Mogwai recorded eleven songs for the record. The band once again brought in Dave Fridmann for production. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the album was recorded at Vada Studios in the UK, while Fridmann produced it in the USA. "As The Love Continues" also features guest contributions from none other than Atticus Ross (Nine Inch Nails) and Colin Stetson (Arcade Fire, Bon Iver).
LP Record Kiss's 1987 album, Crazy Nights, was a commercial success. Featuring the hit singles "Crazy Crazy Nights" and "Reason to Live", the album achieved platinum certification from the RIAA. Crazy Nights was the band's first album since 1983's Lick It Up and the first to feature drummer Eric Carr. It was also the first album to feature guitarist Bruce Kulick, who replaced Ace Frehley in 1984.
LP Record Darkthrone, the legendary Norwegian black metal group, released their album "Astral Fortress" in 2022. This album continues the band's legacy of raw, unfiltered metal, showcasing their signature sound that has evolved over decades. "Astral Fortress" features eight tracks that delve into the realms of black metal, with a mix of the heavy metal and punk influences the band is known for incorporating into their repertoire. The tracklist includes titles such as "Caravan Of Broken Ghosts", "Impeccable Caverns Of Satan", and "Stalagmite Necklace", each offering a unique blend of grim riffs and atmospheric intensity.
