LP Record Sunday at the Village Vanguard is a groundbreaking jazz album by The Bill Evans Trio, recorded live on 25 June 1961 at the Village Vanguard in New York City. This album captures the brilliant interplay between pianist Bill Evans, bassist Scott LaFaro, and drummer Paul Motian. Tragically, this was the final recording to feature LaFaro, who died in a car accident just ten days after the performance. The album is renowned for its exceptional sound quality and the trio's innovative approach to both standards and original compositions. The tracklist showcases the trio's dynamic range with pieces like "Gloria's Step" and "Jade Visions", both composed by LaFaro, as well as a captivating rendition of "My Man's Gone Now" from Gershwin's opera "Porgy and Bess".

LP Record Supergroup The Smile are kicking off the new year by releasing their second album, "Wall Of Eyes", in January 2024. The band consists of Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood from Radiohead and Sons Of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner. Their debut, "A Light For Attracting Attention", was released in 2022 and created during the coronavirus pandemic. Fans and the professional press alike were thrilled by the band's sophisticated sound, which is reminiscent of Radiohead in places but also has plenty of its own character. This is exactly where "Wall Of Eyes" picks up, continuing the journey of its predecessor. After all, many of the musical ideas on the album originate from the band's exploratory phase during the pandemic.
