TV bought for my daughter's nursery. Pretty good picture and sound for the price. Compared to the 17 year old LG LED TV, I can see the improvement and I hope my daughter won't complain.
Ambient lighting is quite an interesting and pleasant thing when watching TV in the evening and the important thing is that it can be turned off, it would be nice if it was one click and not two with a shift.
The sleep function is poorly thought out or I don't know how to use it as Philips intended. I still have a new Samsung TV now and there you can scroll through the various functions in the menu. So I hit the settings wheel and set the sleep function to the first line. With this Philips I have to press settings, then again on the full menu then find -system- open that one and scroll there again and set the minutes to off. Or there is a power saving button on the remote control where you can set the power off after 30 minutes with two clicks. But then you must not touch the controller or the time will be extended again. 5 minutes before switching off, a warning appears and covers the image. And in the morning if you don't cancel it, the TV will turn off 30 minutes after the last touch of the remote. So in the evening you go to sleep you set sleep and in the morning you have to cancel it in the menu which is absolute nonsense, I wonder if I should return the TV because of this.
Compared to the Samsung, I find the body of the TV quite thick. Maybe it's the ambient lighting.
I have the TV on the dresser in the kids room next to the door, when the TV is running with ambient on and I enter the room I get an unpleasant hit of LED light directly in my eyes from the back of the TV. So if you are considering an ambiemt TV consider where it will be placed.
The picture is pretty good but compared to the Samsung Qled mini, the initial black Netflix screen has edges lighter (over lit) than the center of the screen. But I don't mind it for movies.
