I know it’s not Alza’s fault; I’m actually reviewing the product, not my shopping experience or the range of products on Alza. The Adidas expert who was describing the sizes either doesn’t know his numbers, or he was measuring by eye rather than with a tape measure. I bought an L/XL double size, where the description states that this size fits 30 – max. 40 cm hand circumference. Well, the sleeve itself is certainly manageable with a bit of effort; the fabric is suitably stretchy and soft. Unfortunately, however, the edge of the sleeve is sewn with such strong thread that it is virtually impossible to stretch it at all. And no, the silicone strip isn’t the problem in this case; it’s actually the thread right in the seam. Forearm circumference (the sleeve goes all the way up the arm!) ) at the widest point on the person for whom the sleeves were intended, it is approximately 33 cm. And you can’t even get the sleeve on there either. So, I’ve given it to someone who has toothpicks for hands, and I’d advise everyone else not to worry about the sizes at all. It’s a real shame, because the fabric is otherwise brilliant and really lovely to the touch.
