A huge disappointment – we first bought the Concept fridge in 2020 because our original built-in fridge had broken down. This was the only one that would fit into our built-in space in the kitchen. In the end, we were happy with the original fridge model. It was just right in terms of size, functionality and design. Over the course of a few years, it needed repairing twice (once it was beyond repair – the light stopped working and the component is no longer manufactured – apparently the fridge needed replacing – which we felt was unnecessary just for a light, so we bought our own light with a motion sensor, which we installed in the fridge and managed to use for a while longer). After six years, the fridge stopped cooling and needed replacing. So we bought a new one without hesitation; it looked exactly the same as in the picture. The width was still correct, so we didn’t look into it any further. At first glance, there were no apparent differences from the previous one. So we thought we were buying the same fridge we were familiar with, one that would fit where we needed it. But what an unspeakable disappointment it was when I unpacked the fridge. The fridge is a few centimetres shorter, so there’s a gap in the built-in space, but never mind. However, the classic ‘Euro-hype’ – out of 4 shelves, there are 3; out of 6 compartments in the 2 doors, there are 4; and I won’t even comment on the freezer. Everything is significantly smaller and has a smaller capacity. The drawers and accessories look very cheap. In reality, the fridge can hold a quarter to a third less. It really hadn’t occurred to us that things could take such a dramatic turn for the worse. So we’ve just got to make do with the fridge. Given that we have a comparison with the previous model, the criticism just goes on and on. We’ll need to get an extra freezer for the cellar.
