The device consists of three parts that simply lie on top of each other. One is the water reservoir, which is simply an open pool at the bottom of one of the parts - when you tilt the unit, you get a splash. Inside there is a small and appropriately noisy fan that disturbs even when you sit next to it with headphones on. The whole thing feels like some kind of student prototype. The water evaporation effect works in principle, but the difference from a normal fan is a degree or two. It's really not worth the complicated handling and noise it makes. I'll go back.
