Electricity consumption. Energy consumption is stated as 284 kWh per year; actual consumption – excluding marketing claims and based on normal family use and door openings – comes to 438 kWh, which is 54 per cent higher. However, the system is still performing very well, at around 2,600 CZK per year at 6 CZK/kWh. The freezer is really big, and the middle adjustable drawer is a brilliant feature. The ability to open the left or right door independently, thanks to a clever sealing system, is a great bonus. What was really awful was the delivery from Alza! The item is listed as in stock; the delivery date and time slot have been agreed. In the end, it turned into a five-day game of cat and mouse, with them pushing back the delivery date every day and giving various revised delivery times; even on the helpline, they falsely told me twice that it would arrive the very next day. So, after the initial confusion, we decided to cancel the removal firm altogether – and our plans for a long weekend as well. And given that they’ve been having real problems with deliveries of late, I suspect that by displaying ‘in stock’ and an early delivery date, they’re simply creating a false competitive advantage for themselves. So, I’ll gradually start looking at other shops.
