It’s perfectly adequate for simply boiling water and preparing simple meals, but for proper cooking, it’s better to look for a model with finer power settings and one that doesn’t cycle between zero and maximum power in the lower power modes. The lowest actual power output is around 800W; between that and 2000W, it cycles between zero and maximum. There are models that are similar in price or only slightly more expensive which are capable of smoothly adjusting the power output up to 100W without cycling. It’s enough for heating water and boiling potatoes or ready meals, but not for anything else.
