I purchased the device as a study aid for a phytopathology course to observe relatively large objects where I would not be able to handle a real microscope (translucent), here I get excellent output: ) Of course, it's not comparable to a good quality bynolupa(stereo reflection microscope. light) But the work is easy and fast and right in the PC. So if you are looking for a cheap toy in which you can track mould, fungi, electronic components, mineral coating, edaphon, leaves or needles and similar objects, this is not a bad choice. The stool is usable but it is heavy and the picture runs away from you. But for the money, you've got a device that's going to get some of that awesome done. In the attachment I give two pictures one picture is of Aecidia (Gymnosporangium sabinae) known as "Pear Rust". And on the second one the needles of Himalayan pine (Pinus wallichiana).
Surprisingly usable for the money, no problem.
Relatively fast image response when moving the subject.
The 640x480 image captures the subject fairly faithfully with acceptable noise.
I estimate the real magnification to be about 40x
At least a low-quality stand, better than nothing, it can be used, but it's a bit more challenging.
Works fine without anything on LINUX (as expected)
It definitely doesn't have 2mpx, the real image that comes out of the sensor is 640x480, I haven't really discovered any other mode. And if the original SW has it, it will only be an interpolation to that resolution. But that doesn't really hinder the use at all, the image is decent enough for the magnification.
Of course the huge magnifications mentioned in the description are nonsense. But I didn't expect that.
