Monoblock air conditioning concentrates the entire cooling circuit in a single cabinet inside the room. It transfers heat to the outside through one or two insulated air ducts running through the wall or window panel. The advantage is that it does not need outdoor units. You can do the installation yourself and some models are portable on castors. The disadvantages may seem to be higher noise, limited cooling capacity and lower seasonal efficiency than inverter split systems, as the exhaust air can create a slight negative pressure and draw in warm air from the surroundings. Monobloc is an ideal choice for tenants, listed buildings, holiday lets or rooms where an outdoor installation is not legally or technically possible.
