Epilators

Hair removal is the process of removing unwanted hair by the roots. According to the method of hair removal distinguish between classical and IPL epilators. A special type are the facial epilators.

  • pluck hairs with tweezers or a rotating disc
  • Number of tweezers: 10-70, for beginners it is advisable to start with a smaller number of tweezers (ideally below 25) to get used to it

  • kinds of attachments: the intimate areas (bikini extension), depilatories, hair lifter

  • disadvantages: it can be painful and the hair removal is not permanent (approx 4 weeks)

IPL epilators

  • hairs are removed by means of intense pulsed light
  • it is necessary to observe the specified number of pulses
  • not suitable for people with very dark skin (phototype 5 and 6)
  • price range: 45 up to 450 Pounds
  • Advantages: painless and long-term hair removal
  • disadvantages: higher purchase price

Facial epilators

  • special type epilator for hair removal from the face
  • usually equipped with brushes for cleaning the skin
