The cable is nice, braided, but if you have an edge somewhere and not just a smooth surface, it will wear and puncture over time.
I already have a second one and now I'm buying a third. After a few years, the laser starts to fail, the cursor then flickers even without movement, with the second piece I now left scrolling, when it keeps returning in the opposite direction, which is very uncomfortable to control and eyes. It was completely cleaned, but to no effect.
Even if you buy a new mouse, then the linked pages in the manual (on the card) for downloading the SW don't work anymore.
It seems to me that A4Tech mice have a curmudgeon in them, because I have about the 4th similar one in many years, and the glitches they die from are very suspicious.
