Do not buy this series of APC. I trusted APC because of their reputation; this was a mistake. The transformer is on 24/7 (which is bad), and the fan only runs in certain cases (this is not good either); this is cooking the batteries, badly cutting their lifespan. The batteries cannot be replaced without voiding the warranty and complex technical operations. The APC software keeps reporting "batteries OK" even if they are bad; their tests are useless. Mine stopped being able to take over even 80W of load after 2 years and 1 day - conveniently just outside the warranty period. If the power cuts out, the APC dies immediately. For the cost of this horrible cost-cutting design you can get much better Eaton or Cyberpower units. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

One UPS to myself, one to a relative in the family (so they were in different environments and differently utilized). The first UPS broke in 1.5 years, the second in less than 2 years. After my experience with this model, I will go to another brand next time.
