We are used to grinders where the coffee stays inside and not in a closed mechanism, on the edges, so that when you take the top off, it spills everywhere and you get everything from it. With other grinders I've ever had, it never did and it always ground that amount or more, beautifully smooth. Here I had to shake it, drop it, shake it, drop it, then just shake the whole grinder to keep it grinding. Personal experience, everyone has different requirements for a coffee grinder.
