Satellite and digital technology includes everything you need to receive digital satellite and terrestrial broadcasting. Should you choose a set-top box or a satellite receiver?
A set-top box is a device for receiving digital television channels via terrestrial DVB-T transmitters. It converts the digital television signal into a signal that a TV not equipped with a digital tuner can actually process. You hook the set-top box between your TV and antenna and it is suitable for people who don’t necessarily require a wide range of TV channels. If you want a good selection of foreign channels, choose a satellite receiver. Satellite TV gives you access to a myriad of channels of all genres, distributed by satellite broadcasting.
Amplifiers, antennas, and radios
The amplifier serves to amplify the received signal, while the splitter is designed to “split” a radio or television signal between multiple TV sets. To receive or transmit television and radio signals by air, you need a suitable antenna; it can be a parabolic dish, indoor, or an outdoor antenna. Connectors and cabling include everything for connecting a satellite receiver, set-top box, or other device to your TV. This category also includes digital radios for people who love listening to their favourite stations in the garden or on the go.
