Founder: Friedrich Schleich
This German producer of toy figurines was founded in 1935 by Friedrich Schleich. The company recorded a major success in the fifties with the production of figures based on comic book heroes.
In the early 1980s, the company introduced a set of model animals. Thanks to a combination of German precision and aesthetic quality, Schleich models became collector items. Since 2003, the product range expanded to include the prehistoric world, and 2007 saw the introduction of elves and goblins of various shapes and sizes.
By 2006, the family owned company was sold to HG Capital. The company's headquarters is still in Germany and is led by representatives of the family, and the brand is slowly but surely expanding around the world.
