Around the Fur peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 chart and has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping one million copies in the United States. On the album, the band continued to evolve its sound from the more nu-metal-oriented debut album, Adrenaline (1995), placing a greater emphasis on melody and atmosphere.
