Sensor Size 1/1.7"

Sensor size 1/1.7" refers to the physical dimensions of the image sensor in the camera. The image sensor is the component that captures light and converts it into digital data, i.e. the resulting photograph or video. The fractional figure, where """ stands for inch, is a historical standard and does not accurately reflect the actual diagonal. Importantly, the smaller the number in the denominator (after the slash), the physically larger the sensor. The larger sensor area allows more light to be captured. This translates into better image quality in lower light conditions, such as at sunset, where it helps reduce unwanted graininess, known as digital noise. At the same time, a sensor with a larger area often offers a higher dynamic range, which is the camera's ability to capture details in both the dark and light parts of the frame at the same time.
