LP Record John Frusciante is releasing his first electronic instrumental album under his own name on Aaron Funk's Timesig label. The record is dedicated to his recently deceased cat, Maya, who kept him company during his otherwise solitary music-making sessions. He says of it: "Maya was with me for fifteen years while I made music, so I wanted to name the album after her. Florence could identify all too well with this image, having spent over a decade touring non-stop, dedicating herself to her songs on stages across the globe, night after night. Florence's love of dance runs like a common thread through the entire new album.

The creative concept of the album is based on the musical octave. The band's eighth album from 2005 could be seen as following in the footsteps of Pink Floyd, Coldplay, and U2, as alongside the familiar and often playful instrumental parts, the record features elements related to these rock groups.
