Sharon Van Etten: We've Been Going About This All Wrong Ltd Clr
LP Record Sharon Van Etten has always been an artist who helps people make sense of the world around them. In “We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong”, she addresses the questions we ask ourselves when we think the world – or at least, our world – might be ending. Did we love as well as we could? Did we try hard enough? How do we protect the things most precious to us from destructive forces beyond our control? And how do we salvage something worthwhile when all seems lost? In contemplating these questions and her own vulnerability in the face of them, Van Etten has created a powerful meditation on how life’s changes can be both terrifying and transformative.

John Coltrane: Coltrane LTD
LP Record When I wrote about John Coltrane on the back of Mating Call, I took into account his previous experiences playing with Eddie Vinson, Dizzy Gillespie, Earl Bostic, Johnny Hodges and Miles Davis. I wrote, “It is evident from his employment record that he didn't just burst full-blown onto the scene. Rather, these are dues he has been paying for some time.” This is an age of the big build-up. Film stars, television personalities, presidential candidates, soaps for use in washing machines; all are sold to the public in the same manner. With the advent of hi-fi, the LP boom and Madison Avenue's discovery of 'jazz', musicians are also receiving similar treatment. Every other month, we are greeted by albums from new stars.
Röyksopp: Profound Mysteries II Ltd Num
LP Record Electronic pop duo Röyksopp has announced the second part of their Profound Mysteries project, Profound Mysteries II. Svein Berge and Torbjørn Brundtland call Profound Mysteries the biggest project of their career. It is a bold look into the future and a tribute to the artists, genres and musical styles that inspired them. It is a project that Berge and Brundtland have worked on their entire lives (the oldest ideas come from the early days of Röyksopp, literally from MIDI data the band composed as teenagers in the nineties), and at the same time, it is completely new.

LP Record With "Aventine", the Berlin-based Dane releases her eagerly awaited second album. "Aventine" follows her successful debut, "Philharmonics", which has sold over 450000 copies in Europe since its release in 2010. The album achieved platinum status in France and Belgium and went 5× platinum in Denmark, where Agnes Obel also won five Danish Music Awards (the Danish Grammys) in 2011. Originally from Copenhagen, Agnes Obel has lived in Berlin since 2006. She recorded "Aventine" in the spring of 2013 at her Berlin studio, Chalk Wood Studios.
