Alison Mosshart, aka VV, and Jamie Hince, aka Hotel, borrowed the collection's name from their drum machine, which contributed to their signature sound, especially in their early days. In addition to unreleased demos and B-sides, "Little Bastards" also includes several covers, such as "Forty Four" by Howlin' Wolf and "I Put A Spell On You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins.
