LP Record Depeche Mode's 1993 album, Songs of Faith and Devotion, was a dark and introspective record that dealt with lead singer David Gahan's personal struggles. The album was both a critical and commercial success, spawning the hit singles "Personal Jesus" and "Enjoy the Silence". Songs of Faith and Devotion is often considered Depeche Mode's finest album and has been cited as an influence by many artists.
LP Record Here is the complete classic double album, Ella Fitzgerald Sings The Cole Porter Song Book. The Cole Porter Song Book, the first of Ella's celebrated songbooks and one of the finest vocal jazz albums of all time, was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2000, which honours recordings of “qualitative or historical significance”. In 2003, it was one of 50 recordings chosen by the Library of Congress in Washington to be added to the National Recording Registry.
LP Record The 1975 is the eponymous album released in 2013 by the British rock band of the same name. The album was a commercial and critical success, reaching number one on the charts in the United Kingdom and number two in the United States. It was certified platinum in both countries. The album's lead single, "Chocolate", reached number one in the United Kingdom.
LP Record Physical Graffiti: the sixth Led Zeppelin reissue is out now The double album "Physical Graffiti" by Led Zeppelin was released on 24 February 1975. The remastered version is being released almost exactly on the 40th anniversary of its original release. The "40th Anniversary Edition" of "Physical Graffiti" continues the reissue series overseen by Jimmy Page. Almost all of the band's LPs became legendary, but the sixth Led Zep studio album still holds a very special place today. Fans remember this double album as particularly monumental, with tracks like "Kashmir" and "Trampled Under Foot". "Physical Graffiti" continues the reissue approach established last year.
LP Record Product information: Recorded on 2 February 1961, Explorations was Bill Evans' fourth LP as a leader and the second studio album from the pianist's legendary trio with Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian. Their first recording together was the studio album Portrait in Jazz, made on 28 December 1959, which marked Evans' third album as a leader following New Jazz Conceptions (1956) and Everybody Digs Bill Evans (1958). The Evans-LaFaro-Motian trio reached its peak during a club recording on 25 June 1961 at the Village Vanguard in New York. LaFaro died in a car accident just ten days later, at the age of 25. Six tracks from the album Portrait in Jazz (featuring the same trio) are added here as a bonus.
LP Record Pure magic: the new Big Thief album An album that brings together the many different facets of Adrianne Lenker and the band's songwriting – that's one way to sum up the idea behind the new Big Thief album. "Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You" is the title of their fifth studio album, for which the American indie rock band from New York took a new approach. To explore everything that makes up the music of Adrianne Lenker, Max Oleartchik, Buck Meek and James Krivchenia, they decided in 2020 to write and record an "expansive testament to their growth as individuals, musicians and a family". The album was recorded in four separate sessions: one in upstate New York, one in Topanga Canyon, one in the Rocky Mountains and one in Tucson, Arizona.
LP Record Few other 80s bands changed their sound and style as radically in such a short time as Talk Talk. In six years (1982–1988) and across four albums with EMI, they evolved from the new romantic pop of their debut album "The Party's Over", which featured minor hits like "Talk Talk" and "Today", to the almost archaic avant-garde rock/pop of "Spirit Of Eden". On this album, the band was supported by notable guests, such as violinist Nigel Kennedy and double bass legend Danny Thompson. Review: "If people had been talking about music from another star before, Spirit Of Eden (6/41:26) marked the dawn of another galaxy in 1988." (Good Times, June/July 2012)
