Dolly Parton: Jolene
LP Record The original release of the album "Jolene" featured ten tracks, all of exceptionally high quality. Two of these became number-one country hits. The first was the title track, "Jolene", which became a top-ten hit in 1976 and has been covered by many artists, including Olivia Newton-John, and later The White Stripes, and more recently BossHoss and Ilse Delange. The second famous song is, of course, "I Will Always Love You", although it took some time to achieve international acclaim. Linda Ronstadt covered it in 1975, and in 1992, it became a worldwide smash hit thanks to Whitney Houston's version in the film The Bodyguard.

The Bill Evans Trio: Sunday At The Village Vanguard LTD
LP Record Conventional wisdom, which in this case might be correct, holds that Bill Evans's career peaked on 25 June 1961, when two live recordings were made: 'Sunday at the Village Vanguard' and 'Waltz for Debby'. These were the final two documents of Evans's first and finest trio, featuring bassist Scott LaFaro and drummer Paul Motian. In his two years with Evans, LaFaro opened up new possibilities for the jazz bass, playing in a harmonically idiosyncratic, melodically fluid style that was unparalleled at the time. He died ten days after this record was made, at the age of just 25.

Belle & Sebastian: Late Developers Ltd Clr
LP Record Who doesn’t love Belle and Sebastian? Does your heart skip a beat every time you hear their music? Did you also fall in love with them the first time you heard “If You're Feeling Sinister” on repeat, and did that song change your life? If you're a Belle and Sebastian fan, “A Bit of Previous” from 2022 was a little gift just for you. Belle and Sebastian have already given us a wealth of classic tracks, so considering their output over the last half-decade – scattered across EPs, soundtracks, and a live album (which served as a greatest hits collection) – you might think there was nothing left and it was time to fire up the tour bus for some anniversary album shows. But you’d be mistaken.

Brun joined forces with like-minded musicians from Enslaved, Gorgoroth, Arcturus, Immortal, and Ulver in 1996 to push the boundaries of what was then considered "traditional" black metal.
Royal Blood: Back To The Water Below Clr Ltd
LP Record British rock band Royal Blood has announced the release of their new album "Back To The Water Below" in 2023. Royal Blood are, above all, sharp vocals, wild drums and a driving bass, escalated with effects to the point where it sounds like a bass and a snotty guitar at the same time. Their ferocious rock sound lies somewhere between Led Zeppelin, White Stripes and Queens of the Stone Age. "Back To The Water Below" heralds a new chapter for Royal Blood. It's the story of two friends, Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher, and their passion for full-throttle, thrilling hard rock that has led them on an extraordinary adventure. It sounds like a fairy tale, and it is. So much so that it only happens once in a blue moon.

Gang of Four: Entertainment!
LP Record The debut album from the English post-punk band was released in September 1979, a time when punk was already "on the wane". Punk and funk influences are certainly still present, but so are clearly recognisable reggae and dub elements, similar to genre contemporaries like John Lydon's Public Image Ltd, Pere Ubu, and The Pop Group. However, anyone wanting to know where bands like Franz Ferdinand drew their sound and ideas from will also find what they're looking for here. The band operated as a pure democracy (each instrument was given equal space and presence – with interesting results), characterised by a transparent sound and a distinctive, meticulously restrained guitar that is crystal clear and sharp.
