Music CD Flower-power pop-up sound: the debut of the Los Angeles collective. Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros are certainly no ordinary band. The roughly 12-member ensemble started playing together around 2007, led by frontman Alex Ebert, who performs on stage as his alter ego, Edward Sharpe. When they go on tour, they travel in a converted school bus decorated with the band's logo. This is how they bring people their open-hearted anthems, with a sound originating from a time when cynicism and irony were not yet the dominant themes in pop music.
