J Mascis: Tied To A Star
Music CD Tied to a Star is the follow-up to J Mascis' acclaimed Sub Pop debut Several Shades of Why. Led by the tracks "Every Morning" and "Wide Awake", the album was recorded and produced by the Dinosaur Jr. mastermind himself, and mixed by John Agnello at Bisquiteen in Amherst. Tied to a Star also features guest appearances from Ken Maiuri (Young@Heart Chorus), Pall Jenkins (Black Heart Procession), Mark Mulcahy (Miracle Legion), and Chan Marshall (Cat Power). Reviews: "Another successful acoustic album from the Dinosaur Jr. frontman." (Rolling Stone, September 2014) "Most of the time there is cheerful strumming and picking, while Mascis sings like a blend of Neil Young and Joan Baez." (Rolling Stone, September 2014) (musikexpress, October 2014).
