Nintendo Switch Hardware

What game modes does Nintendo Switch offer?
The Nintendo Switch gets its name primarily because of its unique ability to seamlessly switch between game modes. And we can tell you, there are quite a few of them! Let's talk about the game modes now.
- Gaming at home on a big TV with the docking station connected via HDMI to your TV or monitor.
- Handheld mode lets you play your Nintendo Switch undocked for 4.5-6 hours depending on the graphical demands of the game.
- Local multiplayer is great for parties. But make sure you have enough Joy-Con controllers.
- Local multi-console multiplayer lets you connect up to 8 Nintendo Switch consoles together over WiFi.
- Online multiplayer requires Nintendo Switch Online service, which includes a bunch of perks, among other things.
Nintendo Switch and its Joy-Con controllers
The Nintendo Switch dedicated game controllers fit perfectly in your hand when in handheld and classic mode. They are equipped with infrared sensors for distance detection, NFC reader for use with Amiibo figures, gyroscope and vibration motor. They can be used horizontally or vertically, depending on the game.
