The Inter-Tech IPC 4U-4708 serves as a durable foundation for building powerful server systems and data storage solutions in rack cabinet environments. This PC case features a logical internal layout, fully meeting the demands of continuous operation in data centres. Operators get a solid chassis with an emphasis on easy maintenance and ample hard drive capacity. The 4U steel construction protects the installed components, while the versatile interior space accommodates a wide range of hardware. The case is aimed at professional use, where technicians require quick access to drives and effective cooling to maintain system stability.
The 481 × 515 × 178mm chassis accommodates a wide spectrum of motherboards, from mITX format to large SSI-EEB boards. The front section is dominated by eight hard drive bays, which support the Hot-Swap feature for exchanging data media during full operation. This system significantly simplifies storage management. In addition to the external bays, the case also offers one internal 2.5-inch drive slot. The solid steel shell protects components from mechanical damage.
The backplane features two SFF 8643 connectors, which ensure a connection to the controller and handle high transfer speeds. The entire drive system is powered by two Molex connectors. The front panel carries two standard USB 2.0 ports, useful for quickly connecting external devices or running diagnostics directly in the rack. The case's internal space provides room for a graphics card up to 265mm long, expanding the build's potential uses.
Thermal stability inside the case is maintained by a fan system designed for optimal airflow. Four 80mm fans at the front draw in cool air, while a pair of rear fans exhausts heat. The front hinged door enables easy fan replacement, which technicians will appreciate during regular servicing. A CPU cooler with a maximum height of 150mm can be installed.
