The main problem with the product is the absolutely and totally unreal smell. The smell to me is exactly the same as when electronics "burn" - plastics like ABS or insulation on wires. A disgusting, poisonous stench. After painting one A4, the area released so much stink that it gave me a headache and stunk up the whole house for a few hours afterwards and my wife could have gone mad. This is not to be used, at least not with children and inside. Returned as part of a claim, I must commend Alza for this Otherwise, the properties regardless of the smell: I think the dilution is OK for direct drawing (maybe a bit thin), but it seems to me that there is not enough pigment in the tempera and it doesn't really shine (see photos). Maybe it's partly the chosen shade, but when I took this tempera away from my daughter because of the smell and it was a problem, we started experimenting and achieved the same colour by adding a little normal red tempera to a cup of primalex. and this resulting paint covered much better with the same shade (unfortunately I don't have a picture to compare). I'm still naively hoping that this smell is not a normal feature, but just some failed batch of paint that somehow leaked into the sale while the quality controller was on vacation, but I won't be buying any more shades to test after the experience.
