First impressions: they sound pretty nice for the size. Unfortunately, I'll either have to adapt to them (the current switching off/on of the computer with all the switches on the extension cord and the speakers connected via 3.5mm jack is not possible with them - every time reconfiguring the backlight and input is really awkward) or return them.
subjectively judged: they play well (dimensionally similar Pebble v 1 and 2 are in my opinion significantly worse)
really annoying noises when switching on and off, which apparently cannot be switched off
subjective: backlighting (some people may like it, but I definitely don't)
after disconnecting from the network, it forgets the settings and uses the default (so it lights up again and sets the input via USB)

Edifier is premium China, kind of like TCL in the TV business. Unless you buy the cheapest pieces from them, one wonders what they mass produce today. I definitely recommend it for casual PC users looking for a solid small speaker for reasonable money.

Solid bass in factory settings, a bit subdued mids and highs. They have their own equalizer for music, movie and game mode - but the FxSound equalizer from the internet solves everything in minutes and better
Really small size, they fit comfortably behind the monitor and do not disturb its appearance. LED can be set but also completely switched off
Connectivity via BT, AUX from soundbar and USB-A cable
Easy to use buttons
Max volume is almost meaningless for their size, but the sound is already distorted. They are optimal for normal listening for daily use when working on a PC. Film and games great, find some studio monitors for real music.
Option to connect your active subwoofer to a 2.1 system.
Fixed cable connection of both speakers to each other. The length is sufficient for a larger table but cannot be replaced if damaged. I'm sure that could have been done better.
No 3.5 jack to cinch in the package, need to buy - I do not rate as a negative, rather a warning when buying.

If you're bothered by the soft hum at lower volumes, just turn off RGB. At least it worked for me. Primarily I have the boxes connected via AUX to the PC's sound box and everything is OK as far as volume memory storage is concerned.
