LP Record Product information Monk's Dream is the first album Thelonious Monk released on Columbia Records after his less-than-amicable departure from Riverside Records. Although Monk had previously recorded all the tracks on the album, with the exception of "Bright Mississippi", in various line-ups, the strong cohesion of the quartet resulted in a first-class work worthy of the praise it received at the time of its release and continues to receive today. It became Monk's best-selling album ever. The title track, "Monk's Dream", was originally recorded by Monk ten years earlier for Prestige in a trio version on 15th October 1952 (which is included here as a bonus). The pianist also originally recorded the tracks "Bye-Ya" and "Sweet and Lovely" in 1952.

Diana Krall: Glad Rag Doll
LP Record Jazz superstar Diana Krall is releasing her new album, Glad Rag Doll, presenting a contemporary interpretation of jazz music from its golden age – the 1920s and 1930s. “We went into the studio as if all the songs had just been written yesterday. I didn't want to make a period piece or a nostalgic record,” says Diana Krall. On the album, the singer collaborated with artists including Marc Ribot (a close collaborator of Tom Waits) and Elvis Costello. It was produced by the renowned T-Bone Burnett, who has worked with Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, Willie Nelson, B.B. King, and Elton John, among others. Diana Krall will perform at the Prague Congress Centre on 12th November.
