LP Record Temple of the Dog was a Seattle-based supergroup formed in 1990 by Chris Cornell and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden, and Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready of Pearl Jam. The band's only album, Temple of the Dog, was released in 1991. Ament, Gossard, and McCready were also members of Mother Love Bone, which disbanded after the death of their frontman, Andrew Wood. Cornell was Wood's roommate, and the two had formed a close friendship. The album was recorded in just under two weeks in early 1991 at Bad Animals Studio in Seattle. It was released on 16th April 1991 through A&M Records. The album was both a critical and commercial success, reaching number five on the Billboard 200 chart.
