King Crimson: Starless and Bible Black
LP Record Positioned between the sensational "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" and the lasting impact of "Red", the album "Starless & Bible Black" has often been overlooked in the King Crimson canon. Although largely unacknowledged by the public at the time of its release in March 1974, "Starless & Bible Black" is for the most part a live album – an experimental hybrid of concert recordings (mostly improvisations) and studio recordings. For much of the album, these two elements are so well-integrated that it is difficult to tell them apart. "Starless & Bible Black" combines the best of both worlds, while accurately presenting the unique identity of the line-up at that time.

Miles Davis: Kind Of Blue CLR

Released in 1959, the album features Davis on trumpet alongside John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Bill Evans, and Wynton Kelly. The album was recorded in a single session, with the musicians improvising over melodic sketches provided by Davis. Kind of Blue is often cited as the first jazz album to feature modal jazz, a style of jazz that avoids chord progressions in favour of scale-based melodies.
Talking Heads: Speaking in Tongues
LP Record Of all the studio albums Talking Heads ever recorded, this is one of their finest, representing their most successful balance between sophisticated underground and danceable, catchy songs. The lyrics, which express fear, paranoia, and alienation in an abstract and associative way, are musically supported by frantic beats and glaring synthesiser sounds, and yet the songs hold together. This sound is as much at home on the New York “no wave” scene as it is in London clubs, and the sonic proximity to Grace Jones's early '80s productions is quite striking. In simple terms, it's a very danceable reggae/dub sound with funky guitar licks.
