An important parameter when choosing a keyboard is the key height - it is good to know if you prefer a low height, such as on laptops, or higher, as you know from the classic keyboards.
Other parameters are the number of multimedia and programmable keys, manufacturer's software interface, noise level, quality of the switches, and last but not least, LED backlighting, which in some cases is even programmable. A big help in a LAN party is also the presence of a USB hub, or headphone output and microphone input directly on the keyboard so that you can connect accessories and peripherals without any hassle.
