Board dimensions
The dimensions of the board are usually given in inches.
The decisive parameter is width, not length, as it has a greater effect on the handling of the skateboard.
Wider boards are suitable for both beginners and larger riders, or for riding on ramps.
Narrower boards are designed for smaller, lighter riders; they are suitable for street skating and skateparks.

Board material
Boards are usually composed of 5-9 layers.
The best quality material is Canadian maple, but Chinese maple, beech or oak offer cheaper - yet good quality - alternatives.
The cheapest materials are PVC and other plastics; these boards are more durable, but unsuitable for tricks.
Trucks
Metal pieces screwed to the bottom of the board, on which wheels with bearings are attached.
Selection depends on the width of the board, which should equal the width of the trucks.
Trucks are divided into three basic sizes:
Low - offer high stability; suitable for smaller wheels (typically 50-53 mm).
Medium - universal and suitable for most styles; most commonly used with 54-59 mm wheels.
High - ideal for carving and cruising; used with 56 mm wheels and larger.
Wheels
Diameter:
50-53 mm - suitable for tricks due to their higher stability; ideal for street skating or skateparks.
54-59 mm - universal wheels, suitable for beginners and advanced; ideal for skating pools, vert ramps, mini ramps and skateparks.
60 mm and more - designed for longboards, these are the fastest type of wheel and can withstand rough terrain.
Hardness:
78a - 87a - the softest type of wheel; intended for longboards, but unsuitable for smooth surfaces or pool riding.
88a - 95a - fast, suitable for street skating and rougher surfaces.
96a - 99a - faster, versatile, suitable for flat surfaces.
101 and higher - the hardest and fastest, they are used for professional racing.
Bearings
The quality of the bearings is indicated by the 1-9 ABEC scale, where 9 represents the highest quality.
The better the bearings, the faster and smoother the wheels.
We recommend that you select bearings marked at least 5 on the ABEC scale
