Gymnastic Balls

Gymnastic and exercise balls are not only a fitness tool, but can also help with rehabilitation and relaxation, or serve as alternative seating. You can also simply play with them. Exercise using a gymnastic ball can prevent various health problems, strengthen muscles, or just help you relax after a long day. When choosing the right ball, pay particular attention to its size, surface area, and weight capacity.

Ball size

Ball size is measured by its diameter. To choose the right ball for your stature, pay attention to the way your knees are angled when you sit on the ball. Your knees should be in the right angle or wider and should be slightly below the line of your pelvis to prevent you from stooping. This right posture is crucial if you want to reap all the health benefits and minimise the risk of injury. When choosing the size of the exercise ball, consult the following chart as a guideline:

150-165 cm	55 cm
165-175 cm	65 cm
170-185 cm	75 cm
More than 185 cm	90 cm

Also pay close attention to the recommended weight capacity. Heavier people should buy a larger ball due to the increased subsidence.

Ball surface

Smooth – classic exercise balls with a smooth surface.
Massage – a ball with small protrusions on its surface; the protrusions gently massage your body during exercise and stimulate circulation.
With handles – special handles on the ball are used for stretching and strengthening exercises.
With feet - designed primarily for sitting; can serve as an excellent substitute for your computer chair.

Ball shape

Most exercise balls available have the classic round shape, but there are also oval gymnastic balls. They are more stable, so they are suitable for the elderly, pregnant women, or for rehabilitation purposes. They also allow you to exercise with a partner.

Special technology

Anti-Burst technology (ABS) – if the ball surface gets damaged, the air escapes slowly and gradually. reducing the risk of injury.
Non-slip surface - prevents you from slipping off the ball even when covered in sweat.
