Child Seats & Saddles

A baby bike seat is an essential accessory for all cyclists with small children. Bike seats are suitable for children 9 months and up, i.e. ever since the child is capable of sitting by himself. The bike seat weight capacity tends to be around 22 kg, which is enough for children roughly up to 4 years of age. This lets you take your kids on cycling trips from a very early age. Quality and safe baby seats are manufactured by companies such as Bellelli or Hamax.

Safety and comfort

A front-mounted self-supporting baby seat is attached to the steering tube, so you don’t have to own a rear rack. The bike seat keeps your child completely safe and lets you have constant contact with him. The ergonomically shaped seat is comfortable and the self-supporting construction ensures the child isn’t jostled by every bump on the road. Some sports seats are fitted with closed adjustable footrests, which protect the baby’s legs from the wheel spokes. A good bike seat should have a safety buckling system and a higher back for keeping the child upright. The baby seat doesn’t restrict your bike’s functionality in any way and you can get everywhere a normal bike can, which is often impossible with a stroller. Baby bike seats are also fully suitable for longer trips.
