Very precise work by Sidney Lumet.

Blu-ray Film - The cast: Paul Newman. His crime is failure to adapt. Verdict: Chains. Paul Newman in one of his most popular roles. Dude Luke, a loner who won't or can't bow down to the arbitrariness of prison. In the company of excellent actors such as George Kennedy (who won an Oscar®* for his role as Dragline) and the great Jo Van Fleet as Luke's mother, Newman does a solid job of acting. Strother Martin as the captain tormenting Luke in the now classic phrase: "What we have here is a communication error." You won't find any more mistakes in the film, you'll find humour and a strong story. Dude Luke is the clear winner.

They both fall hopelessly in love with her and their friendship turns into a fierce battle for her heart. The situation is further complicated by a small detail: Jake is a rabbi and Brian is a priest.
