Thief of Destinies
The first instalment of a dark fantasy series about the clash between divine and human desire for power.
Just a few poorly chosen words and you could be facing death. The politics of the powerful can be ruthless. Especially when a young, ambitious regent is in power, secretly plotting to restore the royal line through his own family. But nothing is ever simple. Particularly when the sins of the past begin to surface and the Council, which holds power in the land, has no intention of surrendering its privileges. How far is the young regent willing to go to enforce obedience?
Human desire for power is strong, but what about divine desire? When the Cubes of Fate are stolen from the god Zyrzir, not even the gods can imagine what might happen if they fall into the wrong hands. Syhaia, the Guardian of the Mists, is tasked with finding them. She is sent to the world of mortals on Gambala to find the lost weapon that determines the course of history before it's too late. For both humans and gods.
Magic. It once ruled Gambala more than the most powerful of kings. But one day, it suddenly vanished from the world, and the power of sorcerers faded. Now it threatens to return, plunging the world into a chaos no one could have anticipated, not even in their wildest premonitions.
