Tomorrow and tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow

Coincidence brought them back together. But neither has any idea how convoluted an adventure through the game industry they will have to go through...

Sadie Green and Sam Masur met in a hospital playroom in the 1980s. They found a welcome escape in the pixels of the platformers Super Mario or Duck Hunt, and a much-needed solace in each other's company. When they reunite years later at the University of Cambridge in Boston, they decide to turn their passion for video games into a joint project. Under their hands, the studio Unfair Games is gradually born, which over three decades becomes a source of phenomenal successes and bitter failures, dreams fulfilled and quarrels, bitterness and disappointment. Sadie faces programming limits and pervasive chauvinism, while Sam faces a struggle because of his ethnicity and physical disability. And while they both ride the roller coaster of professional and relationship milestones, they have no idea that tragedy is about to strike...

A fascinating story about friendship, ambition and above all, the love of computer games. The book, which won the 2022 Goodreads Choice Award in the fiction category, is being made into a film co-produced by Paramount Pictures and Temple Hill Entertainment.

A charming novel. The world Zevinová has created in it is multi-layered, vast and playful, just like her characters.

Gabrielle Zevin

She comes from a New York family of Korean immigrants and a Russian Jew, but spent her formative years in Florida. She began contributing to the culture section of the local Sun-Sentinel newspaper in Fort Lauderdale at the age of 14. She already had a literary agent while studying English at Harvard, and her debut novel, Margarettown (2005), was shortlisted for the James Tiptree Award. The same year she wrote the ballad Somewhere Else (no. 2009) about his stay in the Otherworld and the screenplay for the film Between a Man and a Woman (starring Helena Bonham Carter and Aaron Eckhart). She then continued to devote her creative efforts equally to screenwriting and fiction, especially with regard to the theme of the search for an estranged identity. Among her other works, the prose prose of A. J. Fikry (2014, no. 2015), describing an unfortunate episode in the life of a Massachusetts bookseller, and the bestseller Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow (2022, nr. 2024) about a couple of friends who start a video game studio. This news was not only well received, but also received the annual Goodreads Choice Award.
