A mysterious spy tetralogy full of criminal mysteries
The espionage tetralogy When the Circle Closed by the Pilsen-based writer and musician Kamil Pešt'ák aroused great interest with its first, eponymous work. The audio version was released in 2020 and immediately occupied the top of the sales charts after its release. The following year brought the second sequel, And Above It All Is the Sun, which brought one of the supporting characters from the first part to the forefront. In it, the professor, alias Profa, follows the trail of a mysterious event that affected his family. In this third part, the Professor's true identity is revealed. Two time planes take us back to the period of both world wars and the 1960s. At the end of 1916, a great tragedy occurs on the snow-covered front in the Dolomites. It causes a fateful meeting between a Czech nurse and an Austrian officer. What follows is the gripping story of two brothers on opposite sides of the war barricades. Their actions will continue to affect the life of the youngest member of the family many years later. The audiobook was again narrated by Martin Stránský. On the front cover is a photograph from the estate of Czech mountaineer Bohumil Svatos. It captures the rock tower Kobyla in the Bohemian Paradise, which plays a very important role in the third part of this remarkable series.
